Your first visit

Here's exactly what to expect, so you can walk in relaxed. Your first visit takes about 30 minutes. Convenient parking is right out front. After you book, we'll email your intake forms right away, and you'll get text and email reminders before your visit.

  1. 1

    We get to know you

We'll go over your health history and what brought you in.

  2. 2

    We measure

We check your posture, leg length, hip height and the weight on each side of your body, to see exactly where you're out of balance and whether upper cervical care is right for you.

  3. 3

    Your first gentle alignment

If your Atlas, the top bone of your spine, is misaligned, Dr. Laura makes a light, precise adjustment while you rest comfortably on your side. No cracking, popping or twisting.

  4. 4

    Rest and settle

You relax for a few minutes so your body can settle into its new alignment. Then Dr. Laura rechecks your measurements to confirm the change.

  5. 5

    Your care plan

Based on how your body holds that first correction, we'll build a plan that fits your needs. Follow-up visits take about 15 minutes, and as your body learns to hold its correction, your visits space out over time.

“Following treatment, I was asked to sit in a special chair to allow the adjustment to rest followed by Dr Laura rechecking. No pain.”

Neck pain or jaw tension that won't let go?

Dr. Laura gently checking a patient's neck and shoulders

Your Atlas sits where your neck meets your skull, right beside your jaw joint. When it shifts, the muscles of your neck, jaw and shoulders tighten to hold your head level, which can show up as neck pain, clenching, jaw tension and headaches. A gentle correction gives those muscles a chance to finally let go.

“I had constant neck and jaw tension, radiating headaches, and relied on NSAIDs to get me through the day. Since getting properly aligned, my life has changed drastically.”

Staying well

Why regular checkups matter

Your body whispers before it screams.

Stiffness, aches and low energy are your body's way of asking for attention. As your body learns to hold its corrections, most patients come in less often over time, and regular checkups protect the progress you've made.

At every visit we check your legs, hips, weight balance and alignment, and adjust only what your body needs. On average, patients stay well with a visit every 4 to 8 weeks.

In her years of practice, Dr. Laura has seen it again and again: the patients who care for their spine now are the ones who stay well and keep enjoying life, while those who put it off often face harder, more invasive treatments later.

01

Move freely for decades

Bend over with ease, go for long hikes, travel comfortably and keep up with the people you love. Patients often tell us they feel younger.

02

Less wear and tear

A misaligned spine strains your discs, and your knees and hips compensate and wear unevenly. Restoring alignment eases that pressure and protects your joints.

03

A nervous system that ages well

Your spine protects the communication highway between your brain and body. Keeping it aligned helps your body keep healing, adapting and handling stress for years to come.

“His Atlas is still holding”

At this follow-up, his Atlas is still in alignment, so Dr. Laura doesn't need to adjust it. She gently adjusts only the vertebrae that are slightly off. When your correction holds, you only get adjusted where your body needs it. In Spanish, with English subtitles.

Questions people ask

Will it hurt? Will you crack my neck?

No and never. There is no cracking, popping or twisting. You rest comfortably on your side, and the adjustment is a light touch behind the ear, so gentle it can feel like someone taking your pulse. Most patients barely feel it, and many close their eyes and relax.

What will my visits and care plan look like?

Your first visit is about 30 minutes. Dr. Laura listens to your story, takes careful measurements and makes your first gentle correction. Follow-up visits are about 15 minutes, a calm check-in where we re-measure and, in the same gentle, caring way, adjust only what your body needs.

Every care plan is individualized. Many patients start with just one visit a week for about a month, then space out to every other week as the body learns to hold its correction, so you come in less over time. Once you feel stable, occasional tune-ups help you stay that way.

When will I feel better?

Many people feel a difference after their first adjustment. For others it builds gradually, over weeks or months, as the body learns to hold its correction. Everyone heals at their own pace.

What is upper cervical care, and is Dr. Laura certified?

Upper cervical care is a gentle way to restore balance to your spine and nervous system, starting with your Atlas, the top bone of your spine. Patients come to us for headaches, neck and back pain, sciatica, jaw pain (TMJ), vertigo and dizziness, forward head posture, anxiety and stress, poor sleep and much more.

Yes. Dr. Laura is Level 1 certified by the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (NUCCA), a rigorous credential earned through in-depth case review that only a handful of Austin-area doctors have achieved. NUCCA is one of the most precise and gentle upper cervical techniques, and every Atlas correction is guided by careful measurements.

Is this safe for my kids, my parents, or me during pregnancy?

Yes. It's the same gentle approach for every age, adapted to each person and to every stage of pregnancy. Dr. Laura is also training toward her ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) certification in pregnancy and pediatric care.

Will I need X-rays?

No. Radiation isn't needed, so we rely on precise, non-invasive measurements that are safe to repeat at every visit.

Do you accept insurance?

No. We work directly with our patients, so Dr. Laura can recommend care based on what your body needs, nothing more and nothing less. HSA cards are welcome, and we'll give you a receipt to submit for possible reimbursement. We also offer a prepaid package of 4 visits at a discounted rate.
